Thomas Zander's Obituary
Thomas Zander, age 75, of North Ridgeville, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at The Woods on French Creek in Avon. He was born in Cleveland and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1978 moving from Cleveland. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Avon and the Knights of Columbus. Tom enjoyed coin collecting, going to amusement parks with his children, vacations to Disney World, spending time with his grandchildren and watching sunsets while holding hands with his wife. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Christine; children Jennifer (Eddie) Wolfram of North Ridgeville, Courtney (Ben) Gunvalsen of North Ridgeville, Kathryn (Kyle) Chopcinski of North Ridgeville, Julie (Marc) Zander of Elyria; grandchildren Hailey, Ian, Alexis, Rebecca, Thomas, Leah, Bradley, Caleb, Zachary, Natalie, Owen; sisters Barbara (Bob) Rakusan, Carol Zander; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Rose Zander; sister Joan Zander. Respecting social distancing and the wearing of masks, family will receive friends Friday, April 16, 2021 from 6-8 pm at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd, North Ridgeville where a prayer service will be held on Saturday at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10 am at Holy Trinity Church, 33601 Detroit Rd., Avon. Rev. John Misenko will officiate. Burial at Holy Trinity Cemetery with military honors.
