Thomas A. Takacs' Obituary
Thomas A. Takacs, age 66, of Elyria, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014 at University Hospital Elyria Medical Center, following a short illness.
He was born in Elyria, where he spent most of his life.
Thomas served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
He worked as a truck driver for 20 years before retiring in 2012. He previously worked in management for several K Mart stores for 25 years.
He was a member of Magyar United Church of Christ, where he was a Senior Elder.
He enjoyed cooking, traveling, spending time with his family, fishing and was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include his daughters, Jennifer Martin and Julie (Adam) Cook, both of Elyria; grandchildren, Andrew Martin, Lucy and Chase Cook; brother, Robert Takacs of Grafton; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Denise in 2013; brother, John Takacs in 2013; and parents, Ernest and Viola Takacs.
Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:30AM in the funeral home. Rev. Alana Kelley will officiate.
Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
