Thomas G. Smith's Obituary
Thomas G. Smith, age 69, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at his home after a lengthy illness.
He was born on March 10, 1948 in Elyria and has been a lifelong resident of North Ridgeville. Tom was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, and was a life member of VFW Post 3341 in Grafton.
Tom enjoyed snowmobiling and taking trips to Minnesota to go fishing, but he found no greater joy than in spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Connie; sons Bill Wilson of Vermilion, Scott (Marla) Smith of Lorain and Brian (Laura) Smith of Avon; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister Karen Kiser of Penfield Township; brothers Jerry (Gayle) Smith of Twinsburg and Marty (Jean) Smith of North Ridgeville.
Tom was preceded in death by his infant daughter Kimberly Smith; parents Albert and Dolores (nee Kiehm) Smith; sisters Donna Martin and Lois Wohlever; brother James Smith.
The family will receive friends from 9 AM until time of Memorial Mass at 10 AM Saturday, July 22, 2017 at St. Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville. Rev. Bob Franco will officiate. Inurnment with Military Honors by North Ridgeville VFW Post 1079 will be in St. Peter Cemetery.
