Thomas P McLeary's Obituary
Thomas P. McLeary, age 82, of Lorain, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, November 12, 2021, surrounded by his loving family at Mercy Health-Lorain Hospital. He was born June 6, 1939, in Fairmount, WV, and had been a resident of North Ridgeville and Grafton before recently moving to Lorain 5 years ago. He was an active member and volunteer of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in North Ridgeville. He was a US Army Reserve, who had a deep respect and appreciation for those who proudly served in the military, especially his son.
He was the former Director of Respiratory Therapy, at Fairview Hospital, Cleveland. He co-founded and owned T & M oxygen Company in Cleveland. Having a servant’s heart, he volunteered many places, often recruiting family and friends to be involved. He volunteered with the Food Hunger Center, founded the Kim Richmond Memorial Fund, the St. Peter’s Garden Committee, and was a past president of Southeast Kiwanis.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid sports fan. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.
He is survived by his son Tom (Judy) McLeary of New Harmony, UT, daughter Katy (Mike) Bruewer of Amherst, grandchildren Samantha, Shane, Emma, and Grace.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, parents James and Catherine McLeary, sister Patricia, and brothers Robert and James.
The family will receive friends on Thursday November 18th, 2021, at Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Rd. North Ridgeville, OH 44039 from 10am to 12 noon. There will be a Funeral Mass at St Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge rd. North Ridgeville, OH 44039 at 12:30 pm on Thursday. Fr. Bob Franco will officiate. Burial will follow.
