Thomas B. Jones Jr.'s Obituary
Thomas B. Jones Jr., age 79, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the St. John Medical Center in Westlake after a lengthy illness.
He was born on April 3, 1945, in Lakewood and has been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 10 years, moving from Bay Village. He was a U.S. Air Force Pararescueman and served in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. Thomas was a member of V.F.W. 9871 in North Ridgeville, the Disabled American Veterans in Lorain and the Horticultural Society.
He worked as a Union Carpenter for Local 435 in Cleveland, retiring after 25 years of service.
In his free time, Thomas built and flew model airplanes, was an avid railway modeller, and also enjoyed photography and geology.
He is survived by his brothers William (Sue) Jones of North Olmsted and Dan (Jean) Jones of Parma Heights; sister-in-law Maggie Jones; many nieces and nephews.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents Rose Marie (nee Routenberg) and Thomas B. Jones Sr.; brothers John and James Jones.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, on Monday, November 11 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
Interment with Full Military Honors will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, Ohio 44273, Tuesday, November 12 at 1:45 p.m. Please meet directly at the cemetery by 1:30 p.m.
