Thomas R. Ennis' Obituary
Thomas R. Ennis, age 77 passed away peacefully at home surrounded with love by his family on Thursday, August 19, 2021 after a lengthy illness.
Tom was born in Cleveland to Oscar and Phoebe Ennis on September 26, 1943 and he was a resident of North Ridgeville for over 50 years. He enjoyed his retirement years living in Homosassa, FL.
He served as a dedicated Cleveland Fire Fighter for many years where he retired as Captain in 1992. After retiring, Tom spent many summers working downtown at Jacob’s Field as an usher for fun, allowing him the opportunity to enjoy all of the Cleveland Indian’s home games.
Tom was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in North Ridgeville. He enjoyed spending time with his family, attending his grandchildren’s athletic events, traveling, golfing and he was an avid Cleveland sports fan. Captain Ennis was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Shamrock Club.
Devoted, loving and generous father to Thomas Ennis of Mansfield, James (Diane) Ennis of North Ridgeville, loving grandfather to Thomas, Zachary and Andrew Ennis of North Ridgeville, Selena, Ashley and Phillip Ennis of Las Vegas, Nevada; beloved great-grandfather to Hunter, Alicienna, and Camryn; he was loved by many nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife Karen (née Balogh); his parents Oscar and Phoebe Ennis; brother Paul; sister Gaye; and his beloved grandson Patrick Allen Ennis.
Graveside Service will be held at St. Peter Cemetery, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, (PLEASE MEET AT CEMETERY), on Wednesday, August 25 at 1:00 p.m.
