Theresa M. Obran's Obituary
Theresa Marie Obran, (nee Riegelsberger), age 93, of Avon, passed away on July 18, 2014 at Avon Oaks Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
She was born on June 20, 1921 in Avon, where she has been a lifelong resident. She worked at the Westlake K Mart, retiring in 1993 after 12 years of service.
Theresa was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church where she volunteered working bingo for many years and was a member of the Mission Club.
Baking was Theresa’s passion, and she loved preparing jumbo sugar cookies, cherry squares, cheesecake, ultimate chocolate marshmallow cream cake and before holidays, her nut rolls were lovingly sent to family and friends. In her spare time, she also enjoyed bowling and gardening. She was always caring for others, and her greatest joy was found in spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Theresa is survived by her sons, Raymond F. (Margaret) Obran of Springfield, VA, Dale F. Obran of Shaker Heights and Mark F. (Lucy) Obran of Amherst; grandchildren Joy Michael, Dawn Obran, Brian Cooperider, Danelle Rodriguez, Darlena Szilvasy, Raymond Obran Jr., Mark Obran II and
Matthias Obran; 9 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sister Frances Rand of Middlefield; brother Raymond Riegelsberger of Avon.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank J. Obran; daughter Carol Kunasczewski; granddaughter Janenne Cooperider; parents Frank J. and Cecilia (nee Waldecker) Riegelsberger; brother in law Ed Rand; sister in law Miriam Riegelsberger.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and on Friday for a 9:30 a.m. prayer service preceding a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 2680 Stoney Ridge Rd., Avon.
Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon. The family requests donations be made to the Lupus Foundation, 12930 Chippewa Rd, Brecksville, OH 44141.
