Theresa A. Hamula's Obituary
Theresa A. Hamula (née Rich), age 81, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake, Ohio. Born on July 26, 1944, in Elmira, New York. Theresa made her home in North Ridgeville for the past 36 years after moving from Elmira. Throughout her career, she worked as a nursing assistant and patient liaison in medical offices, where she was known for her compassion and dedication to helping others. Theresa was a familiar and friendly face at the North Ridgeville Senior Center, where she volunteered frequently and especially enjoyed participating in the activities. She had a vibrant personality and truly was the life of the party, always bringing laughter and joy to those around her. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren and was happiest when surrounded by family. Theresa had a generous heart, always putting others before herself. In her free time, she enjoyed laughing, and making lasting memories with the people she loved most. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and dancing the night away.
She is survived by her sons Richard J. Solometo Jr. of Corning, NY and Anthony Solometo (Cheryl Kirkwood) of Horseheads, NY; daughter Amanda Hamula (Dave Harris) of North Ridgeville; stepchildren Michael Hamula of Elmira, NY, Diane Hamula of Geneseo, NY and Melissa (Jeff) Devon of Elmira, NY; grandchildren Adrian and Ashly; great grandchildren Christopher, Chloe and Lea; sister Mary Cohen; many nieces and nephews.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Lewis J. Hamula; grandson Cameron Solometo; parents Edith (neé Helstrom) and Nicholas Rich; brothers Michael, Nicholas and Joseph Rich; niece Jeanne Michelle.
Memorial Service Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Theresa’s name to the Ames Family Hospice, 30080 Hospice Way, Westlake, OH 44145.
