Thelma R. Stringer's Obituary
Thelma R. Stringer (nee Ewing), age 79, retired Manager with Spring Valley Country Club in Elyria, passed away on July 3, 2017 at St. John Medical Center in Westlake.
Born on November 23, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio, Thelma married Mel C. Stringer on February 11, 1956. They later moved to North Ridgeville in 1963 where they made their home and together raised two children, Deborah Virginia and David Allen. Thelma retired from Spring Valley Country Club in 1999, after 27 years of employment and was able to spend time traveling with her husband Mel of 53 years, a passion they shared.
Thelma leaves her family members: daughter Deborah V. (Victor) Howe of Joshua, TX; son David Stringer of North Ridgeville; brother Roy Ewing of Middleburg Hts.; twin sisters Donna Betler and Rita Ewing of Sheffield; sister-in-law Pat Ewing; many nieces and nephews.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Melvin; parents Veryle and Dorothy (nee Cusick) Ewing; brothers Charles and Ralph Ewing.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville on Friday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be on Saturday at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Rev. Bob Franco will officiate. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery, N. Ridgeville.
