Terry Helmick's Obituary
Terry L. Helmick, age 53, of Elyria, died Saturday at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria, following a long illness.
He was born in Beckley, West Virginia and had been a resident of Elyria for the past 24 years. He previously had lived in Grafton.
Before becoming ill, Mr. Helmick worked as a press punch operator for Triad Metal Co. in Parma.
He enjoyed woodworking, computers and especially bowling. He served as the secretary/treasurer for the Young American Bowling Alliance and was an instructor for youth at Rainbow Lanes.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Janet E. (nee Carroll) Helmick; daughter, Tracy Helmick, of Elyria; brothers, Randy, of Medina, Ralph, of Howard, Colorado and Dana, of Grafton; and sister, Theresa Utt, of Grafton.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Ida Mae (nee Bell) Helmick.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 PM until the time of the service at 8 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Rev. Richard C. White, pastor of the New Haven Baptist Church, Sheffield Village, will officiate.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of the donor's choice.
