Tamara K. "Tammy" Chase's Obituary
Tamara K. “Tammy” Chase (nee Bodenhorn), age 69, of Avon Lake passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 19, 2016.
She was born in Akron, grew up in Copley and had been a resident of Avon Lake for the past 15 years, moving from Bay Village.
Tammy worked as a teacher at First Steps to Learning Preschool in Westlake and loved being a homemaker.
She was a member of Avon Lake United Church of Christ.
She loved her family, her home and collecting antiques.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Jeff; son, Coast Guard Commander, Chris (Garrett) Chase of Traverse City, Michigan; grandson, Evan Chase; granddaughter, Carson Chase; sisters, Beverly (Ted) Bickley of Copley, Kathryn Gochenour of Akron; brother-in-law, Benjamin (Darlene) Chase of North Ridgeville; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Kathryn (nee Keplinger) Bodenhorn; grandmother, Sallie Keplinger-Grogg.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 1 PM at Avon Lake United Church of Christ, 32801 Electric Blvd., Avon Lake. Rev. Dr. Kelly Brill, Pastor, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to Youth Programs at Avon Lake United Church of Christ or Camp Seafarer, Attn: Ristie Askew, 2744 Seafarer Rd., Arapahoe, NC 28510.
