Sylvia M. Ashley's Obituary
Sylvia Ashley (nee Meade), 94 of Columbia Station, went on to be with the Lord on January 29th, 2025 after a short illness. She was born May 16, 1930 in Floyd County KY. Sylvia was a former Elementary School Teacher in various one and two room school houses in Beaver Creek, KY. She was a longtime member of the former North Eaton Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and quilted with the ladies of the church. Sylvia is survived by her two children, Kenneth Ashley of Columbia Station and Jeanne Hawley (John) of Columbia Station, 3 Step Children - Joanne Bowen (Carl) of Whitesburg, KY, Edward Ashley (Theresa) of Hazard, KY, and Bobbie Sue Gibson (Jr.) of Littcarr KY; Half Sister Marie Smith of Oregon, nieces and nephews, three grand children and 4 step grand children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Ashley of 34 years; Parents Eliza (Justice,Turner,Meade) & Harland Meade; Her Sisters, Bertha Martin, Dianne Turner, Grace Turner and brothers Virley Meade, Oscar Turner, Langley Turner, Columbus Turner, and Donald Meade. Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville on Thursday, February 6 from 9:45 a.m. until a 10:40 a.m. service in the Funeral Home. Rev. Stephen Carter will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
