Sybil Chambers' Obituary
Sybil A. Chambers (nee Caldwell), age 84, of North Ridgeville, died Monday morning at the Northridge Health Center, North Ridgeville, following a long illness.
She was born in Stirrat, WV; where she had lived most of her life. She had lived in North Ridgeville since 2001; moving from Greenville, PA; where she had lived for 10 years. She also had lived in Walnut Island, NC for 15 years.
She graduated from Logan High School in WV.
Mrs. Chambers was the owner-operator of the Stollings BBQ Restaurant in Stollings, WV during the 1940's and 1950's. She had likewise worked as an inspector for the Locke Machine Company, Andover, OH. She retired from there in 1977.
She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church, Greenville, PA.
She was an avid hunter and fisher and also enjoyed crafts, reading and visiting with her neighbors.
Survivors include her daughter, Frances (James) White, of North Ridgeville; son, James Chambers, of Greenville, PA; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Chambers in 1989, her parents, James Quincy and Liona (nee Lane) Caldwell and her sister Marguerite Lucas.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4-6 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home. 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville; where funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM. Reverend C. Michael Gibson, pastor of the Fields United Methodist Church, North Ridgeville, will officiate.
Burial will be on Thursday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, North Kingsville, OH.
