Susan K. "Suzy" Skolyak's Obituary
The world is without another matriarch, Susan "Suzy" Skolyak (nee Mosko), age 76, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, surrounded by family and friends in her home. She was a past parishioner at Shepherd of the Ridge Church and an auxiliary member of V.F.W. 9871 in North Ridgeville. So many memories and lives touched by an incredible woman. Another incredible soul that had influenced so many and will be missed by all who have known her. Passionate for the holidays, Halloween was the most celebrated with decorations and kind conversations with neighbors. Always greeting friends, family and strangers with a smile, few have carried such a big heart for strangers and assisting those who needed it. She loved to cook and spend time with her family, and really enjoyed going to the casino. The summer months would find her working in her flower garden, and watching the birds.
She is survived by her children Tammy Arbogast of North Ridgeville, Sherry Wright of North Ridgeville, Larry (Robin) Madis of Grafton and Kenny (Jacque) Madis of Minnesota and Kelly Madis of North Ridgeville; stepchildren, Robert “Rusty” Skolyak of Parma, Michelle Skolyak of Colorado and Steven (Desi) Skolyak of Colorado; 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; honorary daughter Marsha Hess of Norwalk; sister Ann Marie “Aunt Sissy” Kullik and sister-in-law Joanne Mosko, many nieces and nephews; her beloved dogs Asteroid, Comet and Stormy.
Susan was preceded in death by her husband Chataldo “Carl” Skolyak; first husband Joseph Larry Madis; parents Anna (nee Sopko) and Joseph Mosko; brother Joseph Mosko; brother-in-law Karl Kullik
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Service Thursday at 11:00 a.m. In the funeral home. Rev. Alan Jenkins will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
