Steve Abbott's Obituary
Steve Abbott, age 60, of Elyria, passed away at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center on July 10, 2014 after a sudden illness.
He was born on October 22, 1953 in Boise, Idaho and has lived in Elyria for the past 2 years, moving from North Ridgeville. He worked as a machinist at V.R.C. Inc. for the 33 years.
Steve loved to tinker, especially with electronics. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, grilling out, and riding his motorcycle, but nothing made him happier than enjoying life and having good times with his friends and family.
He is survived by his daughters Monica (Terry Browning) Abbott of Elyria, and Kelly Abbott of Elyria; stepson Anthony Card of Lagrange; granddaughters Ashley and Brianna Browning of Elyria; grandson Jacob Johnson of North Ridgeville; girlfriend Phyllis Slaughter of Elyria; former wife Cheryl Abbott; aunts Marge and Arlene.
Steve was preceded in death by his daughter Tracey Abbott; parents Charles Neil and Wanda Lee (nee Welch) Abbott; first wife Sheila Ann Abbott.
Funeral Services Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville where family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until time of service. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate. Interment will be private.
