Stanley Ziemba's Obituary
Stanley J. Ziemba, 89, of Elyria died Friday December 19, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Avon following an extended illness.
Mr. Ziemba was born in Olmsted Falls, and had also resided in North Ridgeville for fifty-nine years prior to moving to Elyria.
He retired from General Motors Fisher Guide Plant, Elyria in 1977 following thirty years service as a crane operator. He was a Veteran of the US Navy, and a Life Member of the North Ridgeville VFW Post 9871. Mr. Ziemba was also a member of St. Peter Church and the General Motors Retirees Local 780. He enjoyed woodworking and camping.
Survivng is his wife of sixty-one years, Florence M. (nee Samek); two sons, Robert (Kathy) of North Royalton and Frank (Bridget) of Norton, OH; two daughters, Pati Drapcho (Kevin) of Olmsted Twp. And Helene Bring of Elyria; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and sister, Jo Ann Harrington of Stockton, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julia and Frank Ziemba; brother, Walter and an infant brother.
Family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 AM Tuesday. Funeral Mass will be at 10 AM Tuesday at St. Peter Catholic Church, 35777 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville, 44039. Burial to follow in St. Peter Cemetery, where the North Ridgeville VFW Post 9871 will conduct full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations have been suggested to the St. Peter Memorial Fund or to Harbinger Hospice, 1119 Bassett Rd. Westlake, OH 44145.
