Stanley Sitar's Obituary
Stanley A. Sitar, age, 83, of North Ridgeville, passed away suddenly Sunday July 17, 2005.
He was born in Lilly, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1967 moving from Elyria.
Mr. Sitar served in the United States Army during WWII. He received the Asiatic Pacific Ribbon with two bronze stars.
He worked as an equipment operator for Goodyear Distribution Center in Brookpark for 24 years retiring in 1984. He previously had worked in the Pennsylvania coal mines for 17 years.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, North Ridgeville, Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post 9871, North Ridgeville and United Rubber Workers Union.
Survivors include son, Stanley J. of Elyria; daughter, Regina Thompson of Elyria; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Agnes Kodosky of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann M. Sitar in February of this year; parents, Nicholas and Frances Sitar; brothers, Joseph, Frank and John Sitar, sisters, Katherine Kilanowski, Stella Shedlock, and Mary Cyjoko.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville where a prayer service will be held 9:30 AM Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Peter Church.
Rev. Stephen Kaminski, Pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
The VFW Post 9871 will stand guard from 7-9 PM Wednesday in the funeral home and will conduct a wake service at 8:00 PM.
