Shirley Pluta's Obituary
Shirley M. Pluta (nee Maruna), age 82 of Elyria, formerly of North Ridgeville, passed away Sunday February 24, 2013 at EMH Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
She was born in Cleveland. She had resided in Elyria the past 9 years after moving from N. Ridgeville where she had lived for 50 years.
Mrs. Pluta was a bus driver for over 20 years, retiring from N. Ridgeville City Schools in 1991.
She was a member of St. Peter Church, The Loyal Order of the Moose, Elyria, United Polish Club, Elyria. She was also active with the N. Ridgeville Senior Center and was a Past President of Hot Stove League in N. Ridgeville. She enjoyed sewing, jig saw puzzles, traveling and going to lunch and visiting with friends.
Surviving are two daughters Beverly (Robert) Mann and Linda (Jonathan) Garramone, both of N. Ridgeville, three sons Ed and Jim Pluta both of Elyria and Carl (Denyce) Pluta of N. Ridgeville, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and her brother, Bernard (Violet) Maruna of Bradenton, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, I. Charles Pluta in 2002, three sons Brian, Barry and Gary Pluta and her parents, Edward and Lorena Maruna.
Friends will be received Wednesday, February 27, 2013 2-4 PM and 6-8PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville, where a prayer service will be held 9AM Thursday.
Mass of Christian Burial will follow 9:30 AM Thursday at St. Peter Church. Rev. Bob Sanson will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery.
