Shirley Plum's Obituary
Shirley Y. Plum, 73, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2010 after a long illness. Shirley was born December 31, 1936 in Arthurdale, West Virginia to William and Mildred Watkins. She was their second child.
Shirley worked as a teacher's aide at Wilcox Elementary School for more than 25 years. After retiring her loves were her family and RVing with her late husband Paul. They were members of the Danback Roadrunners, Buckeye FMCA, and Good Sams clubs. Shirley and Paul resided in North Ridgeville for 40 years before retiring to Punta Gorda. Summers were spent as hosts at East Harbor State Park.
She and Paul were married for 53 years. She is survived by her sons, Paul Jr. (Deb) of Kinzers, Pennsylvania and Barry (Heidi) of Seattle, Washington; and a daughter, Valerie (Paul) Braham of North Ridgeville. Shirley was the proud grandmother of ten and the great grandmother of three. She is also survived by a sister Betty (Gene) Bresock of Elyria and a brother Steven (Veronica) Campbell of Morgantown, West Virginia. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, a daughter, Cheryl Denise, a brother Roger and two sisters, Mary and Judy.
A gathering for friends and family will be 5 to 8 P.M. Sunday, December 5th at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road in North Ridgeville. Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 6th at 1:30 P.M. at the First Congregational Church, 36363 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Pastor John Fairweather will officiate.
Cemetery service will be immediately following at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
