Shirley A. Jenkins-Vanover's Obituary
Shirley A. Jenkins-Vanover, (nee Davis), age 69, of Columbia Station, went home to be with the Lord Saturday August 23, 2014 at her residence following a long illness.
Born in Barbersville, KY, she had resided in Columbia Station the past 47 years.
She worked as a Home Health Care Aid for many years.
Shirley was a faithful member of The River formerly North Ridgeville Church of God for over 20 years. Her passion was to reach out to those in need with food, clothing and the Love of God.
She was wonderful Mother and Grandmother to Bobby Jenkins of Columbia Station, Michael (Vickie) Jenkins of Elyria, Wilma (Kim) Seltzer of Wellington, Timothy (Vicki) Jenkins of Columbia Station and Allen Vanover of Columbia Station, ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and one brother, Bobby (Elaine) Davis of Eaton Township.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Vanover, Parents James and Amanda Davis, Sister Alene Norris, Brother General Davis and infant twin siblings.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Thursday at the River Church 6000 Lear Nagel Road North Ridgeville. Pastors Dean Thompson and Danny Wright will co-officiate. Burial will follow in Royalton Road Cemetery, Columbia Station.
Memorial contributions are suggested to The River Food Bank in care of the Church.
