Shirley H. Dunham's Obituary
Shirley H. Dunham (nee Heckerman), age 88, of Columbia Station, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023 at her home.
She was born on October 20, 1934 in Westlake and has been a resident of Columbia Station for the past six months, moving from Avon and North Ridgeville. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Lutheran Hospital and Southwest General Hospital, from which she retired in 1995. She was also the owner of the family business, Dunham’s Greenhouse. Shirley was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Avon, where she was a member of the choir, the Altar Guild, organized blood drives and was a founding member of the Quilt Group, which provided handmade quilts for cancer patients at Mercy and Fairview Hospitals.
In her free time Shirley enjoyed quilting, doing hand crafts, antiquing and spending time with her family and the many dogs she had throughout her life.
She is survived by her son Doug Dunham of North Ridgeville; twin daughters Robin (Glenn) Turnbull of Wakeman and Terry Sweet of Columbia Station; daughter-in-law Laura Dunham of Cleveland; grandson Aaron Turnbull of Wakeman.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Robert R. Dunham; son Dwight Dunham; son-in-law Gary Sweet; parents Alfred and Eleanora (nee Dreger) Heckerman; sisters Betty Clifford and Dolores Boyer.
Funeral Service Saturday, February 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 2265 Garden Dr., Avon 44011, where family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Rev. David Woolsey will officiate. Private interment will be in Fields Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Faith Lutheran Church, Attn: Quilt Group, 2265 Garden Dr., Avon, OH 44011.
