Shelby J. Elkins' Obituary
Shelby J. Elkins, age 72, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Ames Family Hospice after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Montgomery, WV and had been a resident of Cleveland for the past 8 years, moving from Lakewood, where she had lived for most of her life.
Shelby was a Licensed Practical Nurse using her caring gifts at Aristocrat Nursing Home in Lakewood for over 30 years, retiring in 2009.
She was an avid reader of Danielle Steel novels, loved watching her soap operas, and most importantly, spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Lisa (John) Shaw of Cleveland, Stacy (Scott) Grant of Hawaii, Jennifer (Mark Smollen) of Brook Park; a son, William of Grafton; grandchildren, Benjamin, Justin, Stephanie, Shawn, Christopher, Samantha, John, Tifffany and Allison; sisters, Linda Marker, Rosetta Stevens and Jane Heatwole; brothers, Roy Proffitt, Glen Proffitt, Larry Proffitt and Jeff Proffitt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Florence Mae (nee Young) Proffitt; and brothers, Martin Proffitt, Carrol Proffitt and Jerry Proffitt.
Friends may call Friday from 10AM until time of service at 11AM in the BOGNER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Pastor Joseph Kelley will officiate.
Interment will follow in Ridgeville Cemetery.
