Sharon M. Kappa's Obituary
Sharon M. Kappa (nee Glaser), age 78, of North Ridgeville, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, January 19, 2024, at her home.
She was born on March 13, 1945 in Cleveland and has been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 20 years, moving from North Royalton. Sharon worked in accounting at American Greetings in Brooklyn, retiring in 2004 after 17 years of service. She was a very active member of John Knox Presbyterian Church in North Olmsted, where she served as a Deacon, and a preschool teacher aide, was very involved in the congregational life program, and sang in the choir. Sharon was always very giving of herself and her time, volunteering at the animal shelter, and taking in and feeding the neighborhood cats. The summer months would find her meticulously tending to her garden and flowers, or spending time on Kelleys Island or Put-in-Bay. Sharon enjoyed cooking and sharing inherited family recipes. She was the glue that bound her family together, and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren, brought her the most joy in life.
Sharon is survived by her husband Michael; daughters Joanne (John) Coleman and Michele (Tom) Siudak; stepdaughters Lisa (Mike) Reynolds and Jeanine (Marcus) Hereda; grandchildren Dylan, Hannah, Heather and Allie; sister Peggy Jacobs; uncle Don Glaser; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Marion (nee Bubna) Glaser.
A celebration on Sharon's life will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
at John Knox Presbyterian Church, 25200 Lorain Rd., N. Olmsted. Rev. Dr. Tom MacMillan will officiate. A private interment will take place in Brooklyn Heights Cemetery, Cleveland.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to John Knox Presbyterian Church.
