Scott B. VanTassel's Obituary
Scott B. VanTassel, age 57, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake.
He was born in Chicago, grew up in Brookpark and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 25 years.
He was an assembly worker for Ford Motor Company in Avon Lake for 30 years, retiring in 2005.
Scott was a member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church in North Ridgeville.
He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, gardening, shopping for and spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved to cook, specially for church functions.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Kathleen (nee O’Boyle); daughters, Julie (Brian) Deshotel of LaPorte, Texas, Jennifer (Steven) Rumancik of LaGrange; son, Bryan VanTassel of North Ridgeville; mother, Joyce VanTassel of Brookpark; grandchildren, Jared, Katelyn, Owen, Connor, Benjamin and Chloe; brothers, Alan (Linda) VanTassel of Fairfax, Virginia, James (Lynn) VanTassel of Berea and Keith (Kim) VanTassel of Brookpark.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard P. “Van” VanTassel.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Thursday at 10 AM in the funeral home. Rev. George Vrabel will officiate.
