Samuel "Sam" Faulisi's Obituary
Samuel D. Faulisi passed peacefully at home on June 3rd, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Sam was born in Madison, West Virginia on December 8th, 1946 to Icie Mae Spurlock and Salvatore Faulisi. Sam grew up to have a great love of music, sports, and old westerns. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Ligia, father to Scott (Tina), Matthew (Denise), Bettina (Manuel) and Ashley (Richard), stepfather to Jaime, Liz (Mark), Ed (Marie), Marie (Mike) and Angelo. Sam was also an amazing grandfather to Madison, Camden, Luke, Derrick, Emily, Sabian, Nina, Christian, Jonathan, Liam, Daniel, Derek, Nicole, Shelby, Andrew, Michael, Christopher, Ashley, Madyson, Brayden and Nic. Sam was also known to his grandchildren as Grand Pappy Amos and Pap-A. Sam also had a great love for animals and especially loved his dogs, Abby and Cody.
Sam was a police officer for 35 years and retired honorably from the Cuyahoga County Department of Human Services. In his younger days, Sam could be found on the ball fields of Cleveland and beyond pretty much every night. He was an exceptional softball player and played on two National Championship teams. After his playing days, he lived for attending the games of all his grandchildren.
Sam will be remembered for his kindness and willingness to befriend everyone around him (he never met a stranger). He will also be remembered as being comically stubborn, singing out of tune anywhere and everywhere, silly dance moves, and fiery spirit. He definitely did it his way until the very end.
Sam’s celebration of life will be held at Bogner Family Funeral Home located at 36625 Center Ridge Rd. North Ridgeville, Ohio 44039 on Friday June 9th, 2023, with a viewing from 4pm to 7pm and memorial service at 7pm. Flowers can be sent to the Funeral home or donations can be made in honor of Sam to American Diabetes Association, the American Kidney Fund, or Friendship Animal Protective League.
