Ruth W. (nee Wilson) Strittmatter's Obituary
Ruth W. Strittmatter (nee Wison), age 98, of Avon Lake, passed away on January 22, 2017 at the Ames Family Hospice in Westlake.
She was born on September 16, 1918 in Shelbyville, KY, was raised in Roswell, NM and had been a resident of Avon Lake for the past 5 years, moving from North Ridgeville and Cleveland Heights.
Ruth worked as a Clerk of Courts for the Cleveland Heights Municipal Court from 1968-1982 and went on to work as a bookkeeper for David Ingalls Trust in Shaker Heights for many years.
Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, and even recently visited with her family in California.
Ruth is survived by her daughters Marsha (Wayne) Clive of Port St. Lucie, FL and Linda (Lanse) Van Ost of North Tustin, CA; grandchildren Jeri Alten, John R. (Yolanda) Clive, Corey (Katie) Clive and Kevin Clive M.D. (Ashley); great grandchildren Madilynn and Morgan Alten, Alina, Kaden and Sofia Clive, Kali, Camryn, Keegan, and Kendall Clive, Charles M. Clive; sister Sara B. Wilson of Albuquerque, NM; nephew Mark (Barb) Vilcsek of Belmont, CA
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 2012; parents Byron B. and Sally (nee Thompson) Wilson; sister Lucille Caton; brother Wallace Wilson.
Funeral Services Saturday, January 28 at 4:00 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. Rev. Tom Madden will officiate. Interment will be in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman on Monday, January 30 at 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 East 185th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44119.
