Ruth E. Scina's Obituary
Ruth E. Scina (nee Davies), age 71, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on November 28, 1950 in Cleveland and has been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 3 years, moving from North Olmsted. She was a member at St. Brendan Church in North Olmsted where she was a Eucharistic Minister. Ruth volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader for 30 years and a Cub Scout Leader for 8 years. She worked as a program manager at NASA, retiring in 2019, where over the years she had earned the Contractor of the Year Award, Silver Snoopy Award and the Exceptional Public Service Medal.
In her free time, Ruth was an avid reader and loved to paint.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Joseph E. Sr.; children Stacey (Daniel) Lopriore of FL, Joseph E. Jr. (Marykate) Scina of Olmsted Township, Stephen (Christie) Scina of North Ridgeville, Edward (Carolyn) Scina of North Olmsted, Rebecca (Kelly Sippola) Scina of Seven Hills and Andrew (Michelle) Scina of Cleveland; grandchildren Kandice, Hailey, Jessica, Vincent, Nikki, Emily, Claire, Marissa, Joshua, Gavin, Gwen, Chelsea, and Kyli; great grandchildren Hayden and Elias; sister Darleen Davies; many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Edward Roland and Jean Irene (nee Pratt) Davies; brother David A. Davies.
Funeral Service Saturday, January 8 at 1:00 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Rev. Tom Woost will officiate. Interment will be private.
