Rudy G. Palmer's Obituary
Rudy G. Palmer, age 84, of Sheffield Lake, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake, following a long illness.
He was born in Sikeston, Missouri and had been a resident of Sheffield Lake for the past 51 years moving from Lakewood.
Rudy served in the US Army during the Korean War.
He worked as a Basic Oxygen Furnace Manager for LTV Steel in Cleveland, retiring in 1994 after 38 years.
He enjoyed horses and attending horse races, traveling with his family, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mona (nee Riley); sons, Michael (Alice) Palmer of Amherst, Robert (Melissa) Palmer of Lorain, Mark (Tracey) Palmer of Grafton; daughter, Susan (Tony) Beitler of North Ridgeville; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Monica Palmer; sisters, Maxine Marshall, Jueldean Livingston, Virginia Hildebrand; parents, Rudolph and Grace (nee Hensley) Palmer.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Thursday at 11:30AM in the funeral home. Chaplin Jeff Sweitzer will officiate.
Burial with be at 1:30PM at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
