Rosemary Deeks' Obituary
Rosemary Deeks (nee Smith), 62 of North Ridgeville passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2010 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born in Lorain and had been a lifelong North Ridgeville resident. She had been employed as a school teacher for the past 29 years at the Church of St. Peter Elementary School, Lorain. A member of St. Peter Catholic Church, North Ridgeville she had coached CYO Girl's basketball and had also volunteered on the Education Task Force and for Bingo at St. Peter, N. Ridgeville. Rosemary had also assisted with Vacation Bible School for the past two years. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Joseph, son, Greg (Kim) Deeks of Avon Lake, 2 daughters, Christine (Andrew) Lenart of Bainbridge Twp. And Julie (Brian) Ferancy of Amherst, grandchildren, Andrew and Christopher Lenart, Kayla and Evan Ferancy and Ava and Jonathan Deeks, 2 brothers, Paul (Sue) Smith of Oregon and Michael (Kathy) Smith of North Ridgeville, sister, Jeanne (Randy) Holland of North Ridgeville, a brother-in-law, Todd Messner of Medina and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Freda (Rottman) and Ralph J. Smith, by sisters, Laurie Smith and Lynette Messner and by a nephew, Scott Holland. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville where a prayer service will begin at 9:30 A.M. Thursday followed by a 10 A.M. Funeral Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church 35777 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Rev. Craig Hovanec will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Peter School Rosemary Deeks Memorial Fund 3601 Oberlin Ave. Lorain, OH 44053.
