Rose E. Phillips' Obituary
Rose E. Phillips (nee Butcher), age 97, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023 at the Welsh Home in Rocky River.
She was born in Duquesne, Pennsylvania and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 13 years, moving from Deep Creek, Maryland.
Rose worked as a clerk for the state of Pennsylvania Welfare Department for many years, retiring in 1980.
She was a member of St. Clarence Church in North Olmsted.
She loved being with her family and was a lifelong Steelers fan.
Survivors include her daughter, Terri (John) Sonnhalter of North Ridgeville, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband John “Jack” Phillips, daughter, Jill Longenecker, brothers, Matthew, Nicholas, Thomas and Joseph Butcher, sisters, Mary Jane Butcher, Sophie Majercik, parents, Vido and Mary (nee Perlic) Butcher.
Friends may call Monday, May 1, 2023 from 9:15AM until the time of prayer service at 10:15AM at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. An 11AM Mass will follow at St. Clarence Church, 30106 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted. Fr. Al Laubenthal will be the celebrant and Fr. Neil Kookoothe, Pastor, will be the concelebrant. Private burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Duquesne, PA.
