Ronald "Ron" P. Decker Jr.'s Obituary
Ronald P. Decker Jr., age 63 of Carlisle Township, Ohio, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, in his home, after a two year battle with cancer. He was born on July 26, 1962, in Cleveland; and was a resident of Carlisle Township for many years of his life.
Ronald was a 1981 graduate of Elyria Catholic High School. He was incredibly dedicated to his career as a CNC programmer at AJ Rose Manufacturing Co., celebrating 44 years of employment before retiring on June 8, 2026. He was a loving husband to his wife, Laurel, who he married on June 16, 2007, and father to two stepchildren. He will be remembered as a man who loved his family fiercely and was a light to those around him. In his spare time, Ronald had a wide range of interests, specifically riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, supporting his favorite team, the Indians, watching Star Wars movies, and listening to heavy metal music. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus.
Ronald is survived by his wife Laurel (nee Veinfortner), stepson David (Jessica), stepdaughter Amy (Bret), niece Alexandra, nephews Sean and Jack, brother Greg (Jennifer) Decker, and beloved fur balls Jack, George, and Kitty. He was preceded in death by parents Ronald and Maryellen Decker, and his sister Julie.
Ronald’s family welcomes friends to join them at the Bogner Life Celebration Center 7295 Greenlawn Dr., North Ridgeville, OH 44039 on Saturday, July 11th, 2026 with a memorial service beginning at 1pm with a lunch to follow. Pastor John Guenther will officiate. The family has requested that those attending wear anything related to Harley Davidson, Star Wars, heavy metal music, or the Indians in Ronald’s memory.
