Ronald Nelson Drahas' Obituary
Ronald Nelson Drahas, age 83, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Ames Family Hospice in Westlake after a lengthy illness. He was born in Cleveland and has been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 26 years, moving from Columbia Station. He worked as a Hulett Operator for the Longshoreman, unloading ore boats on Lake Erie, where he retired in 2002 after 46 years. Ron enjoyed woodworking, making projects such as tables and planters for the family, and gardening. He had a great sometimes ornery sense of humor. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara (nee Pitts); daughters Pam (Bruce) Sattler of Columbia Station, and Gail Wiegand of Elyria; grand-children Lauren (Chris Espasandin) Wiegand, and Ryan (Racheal) Wiegand; great great-grandchildren Brandon and Sophia Espasandin, Owen, Amelia and Cecelia Wiegand; sister Bernice Reese; many nieces and nephews. Ron is preceded in death by his parents William and Bessie (nee Haurin) Drahas; son-in-law Greg; and sister Beverly (Andrew) Frederick; brother--in-law Frank Reese. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate. Interment will be private. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ames Family Hospice House, 30080 Hospice Way, Westlake, OH 44145
