Roman A. Jalowiec's Obituary
Roman A. Jalowiec, age 94, of North Ridgeville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the home he built and lived in for over 60 years.
Born of Polish immigrants, Roman lived his whole life in the Elyria and North Ridgeville area. He was a WWII Veteran who served overseas. He came home to marry the love of his life, Bernadine, whom he was married to 64 years before her passing in 2009. Roman was a hard worker who raised five children and taught them to be humble and caring like he was. He also got to enjoy 32 years of retirement from Timms Springs Company.
He was a member of St. Peter Church, Holy Name Society and a charter member of VFW Post 9871 in North Ridgeville.
He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, keeping an immaculate garden and yard. He also found time for his favorite hobby: Walleye fishing.
Survivors include his sons, James (Louise) of Elyria, Gary of North Ridgeville; daughters, Sandra (David) Doering of Elyria, Linda (Steven) Patalon of Sullivan, Julie (Thomas) Noble of North Ridgeville; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Zahorec of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadine; brothers, Stanley, Henry, Walter, Edward and Bernard; 2 infant brothers; parents, Roman and Mary Jalowiec.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday at 10 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Rev. Bob Franco will be the celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, where VFW Post 9871 will conduct Military Honors.
