Roland R. "Rollie" Hirsch's Obituary
Roland R. “Rollie” Hirsch, age 75, of North Ridgeville, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 30, 2018 surrounded by his family.
He was born in Cleveland and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for 53 years moving from North Olmsted.
Roland served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
He worked as a Post Master for the US Postal Service at the Amherst, North Olmsted and Berea branches. He retired in 1998 after 37 years of service.
Rollie was a member of Sacred Heart in Elyria and was very blessed to have the ministerial care from St. Peter Church in North Ridgeville. He loved trains, especially steam engines, photography, studying history, traveling and 4 wheeling out west. He loved to socialize with his friends and being active in his church.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jacquelyn (nee Leesberg) Hirsch; daughters, Cynthia (Bill) Zirzow of Lucas, Christine (Ben) Hauck of Lakewood; son, Charles (Kimberly) Hirsch of Elyria; 12 grandchildren and brother, Dennis (Judy) Hirsch of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Amelia (nee Korim) Hirsch; granddaughter, Lucy Hauck; sister, Theresa Bartlett and brother-in-law, Kenny Bartlett.
Friends may call Thursday from 5-7PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. A prayer service will be held on Friday at 9:30AM in the funeral home followed by a 10AM Mass at St. Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Rd. Fr. Bob Franco, Pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be held later at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
