Roger L. Daugherty's Obituary
Roger L. Daugherty, age 72, of Elyria, passed away on November 25, 2016 at the New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain after a lengthy illness.
He was born on November 21, 1944 in Green County, Pa and has been a resident of Elyria for the past 14 years, moving from Waynesburg, PA and North Ridgeville. He attended the Church of the Open Door and was a member of the Harding and Concordia Masonic Lodge #345. Roger was a supervisor for the General Motors Parma plant for 24 years, retiring in 1998 after 30 years of service.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and boating, was an avid sports and NASCAR fan, and bowled on the Senior League at Brunswick Lanes in North Ridgeville.
Roger is survived by his wife of 50 years, Helen; sons Brad L. Daugherty of Huntsville AL and Scott A. Daugherty of Elyria; 4 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles L. and Margaret J. (nee Jones) Daugherty and brothers Robert and Charles Daugherty.
Memorial Service will take place at the Church of the Open Door, 43275 Telegraph Rd, Elyria, OH 44035 on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. where family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Rev. Bob Wickens will officiate. Inurnment will be private.
