Roberta Peck's Obituary
Roberta M. "Bobbie" Peck, age 77,of Elyria, died Tuesday, May 18, 2004 in St. John Westshore Hospital, Westlake.
She was born February 25, 1927 in Olmsted Falls. She had resided in Elyria the past 51 years moving from North Ridgeville.
She was a graduate of North Ridgeville High School, class of 1944.
Mrs. Peck retired from Lorain County Bank in 1989 where she was an administrative assistant. She had perviously worked as a legal secretary for West, West and Couch Attorney's Office in Elyria. After retiring she worked part time for Deery and Serazin Attorneys at Law, Elyria. She also taught Business Classes at Lorain County Community College.
She was a former member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, North Ridgeville and a former member of St. Jude Church, Elyria. She was a member of the 44 Club, in North Ridgeville, founding member of the Mothers of Twins Club at the YWCA in Elyria, Past President of the Guild at Elyria Catholic High School and Past President of St. Jude PTA and Ju'Na'Par. She was also a member of the Legal Secretaries Association.
Mrs. Peck enjoyed golfing, cross word puzzles, playing cards and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her son, William Jr. with whom she made her home, five daughters, Barbara Salata of Cleveland Heights, Judith Firment of Oxford, PA, Bette Joanne Fesco of North Ridgeville, Nancy Wemer of Shaker Heights and Kathy Barber of Berea, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren, one sister, Bette Schroeder of Sebring, Florida and several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William James Peck in 1977, her parents, Myrtle and Charles Burrows, grand daughter, Claire Wemer and Grandson, Stevie VandeVise.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. Burial will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Avon.
