Robert Noland's Obituary
Robert L. Noland, age 83, of North Ridgeville, passed away Friday, March 2, 2007 at the Northridge Health Center, North Ridgeville, following a long illness.
Born in Kingsville, Missouri, he was a resident of North Ridgeville the past 50 years having moved from Elyria.
He served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII in the European Theater and was awarded a Bronze Star.
Mr. Noland retired in 1986 from Wilmot Printing Co., Elyria where he had worked 33 years.
He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, N. Ridgeville, where he served on the board of trustees and as a deacon. He was also a member of American Legion Post 10, Elyria. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, camping and also volunteered with the boy scouts.
Survivors include his wife, Betty (nee Maines); sons, Thomas (Betty) of Saulte Ste Marie Ontario, Robert (Ruth) Noland of Chardon, James Noland of Elyria; daughter, Kathleen Noland of Amherst; three grandchildren one brother, Donald Edward of Shawnee, Kansas and one sister, Gussie Hunter of Lee Summit, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents Colin and Ida Noland and one brother, Colin Noland Jr.
The family will receive friends 2-5 PM Sunday at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, N. Ridgeville. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday at First Congregational United Church of Christ. Reverend John Fairweather will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
