Robert Miller's Obituary
Robert L. Miller "Bob", 68 of Elyria, passed away Wednesday January 14, 2009 at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital following a short illness.
Mr. Miller served as a Deacon, Liturgist and usher for the United Church of Christ, Elyria. He had also been a Deacon for the United Church of Christ, Sheffield Lake prior to moving to Elyria. He retired in the late nineties as a store manager for Firestone following thirty years of service. He then kept himself busy by working as a tape cutter for Manco for six years.
Bob Enjoyed bowling on the Sr. bowling league at Brunswick Lanes, North Ridgeville and attending the Elyria Sr. Citizens' Club and functions. He valued time spent with family, and often orchestrated gatherings to get everyone together. He also took pride in his butterfly garden, and enjoyed traveling, especially cruises, and especially even more so if he "got a great deal" when purchasing the tickets.
Bob is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Yvonne "Bonnie" (nee Suhoski), was the dear father of Sharon Miller-Zegarec, and Judy, Kirk and Philip Miller, and had four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother and caregiver, Stella Miller.
Family will receive friends Sunday January 18 from 2:00PM until the time of service at 6:00PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Rev. Bob Gross, pastor of the United Church of Christ, Elyria will officiate. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations have been suggested to the Cleveland Clinic Oncology Dept., PO Box 931517, Cleveland, OH 44193-1655, in memory of Robert Miller.
