Robert McVeigh's Obituary
Robert E. McVeigh, 91, of North Ridgeville died Thursday September 3, 2009 at New Life Hospice Residential Center, Lorain.
Mr. McVeigh was a lifelong North Ridgeville resident. He retired from Ridge Tool, Elyria in 1980 following forty-three years of service. He served in the US Army during WWII. Mr. McVeigh was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, North Ridgeville, and enjoyed woodworking, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Shirley McVeigh, of North Ridgeville and Barbara Shively (Steve) of Troy, OH; son, James (Gay) McVeigh of North Ridgeville; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and sister, Mildred Demyan, of North Ridgeville.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Dorothy (nee Squires); parents, Alvah and Jean; brothers, Russell, Wilbur and George and grandson, Jason Shively.
Friends will be received Tuesday, September 8, 2009 from 11 A.M. until the time of service at 1 P.M. at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Rev. John Fairweather, pastor of First Congregational Church of Christ, North Ridgeville will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
