Robert J. McAreavey's Obituary
Robert J. McAreavey, 78, of Avon Lake, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at his home.
He was born in Cleveland and had been a resident of North Ridgeville from 1976-2005 and Avon from 2005-2019. He then went on to live in Florida for eight years before moving to Avon Lake where he lived for the past five years.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; recipient of Purple Heart. Robert worked for B.F.Goodrich as a chemical engineer retiring in 2000. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, motorcycles, working voting polls, and volunteering for AARP doing taxes.
Survivors include his wife, Tina (nee Crum); sons, Robert, Barry and Earnest; grandchildren, Cassandra, Brandee, Steven, Tyler and Marissa; great-grandchildren, Eli, Charles, Gabby, Averie, Aiden, Delaney, Dawson and baby Jocelyn.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Florence (nee Wieskittle) McAreavey; and sister, Georgette Dion.
There will be a memorial visitation from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon, Wednesday, June 17, 2026 in Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville, Ohio. Following, there will be a funeral Mass in St. Peter Catholic Church, 35777 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville, Ohio, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Father Isidore Munshi will officiate. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
