Robert Gibbons' Obituary
Robert P. Gibbons, age 61 of Catawba Island, died Monday, at his home following a long illness.
He was born February 11, 1943 in Cleveland. He had resided in Catawba Island the past 13 years moving from Bay Village.
He graduated from St. Edward High School Class of 1961 in Lakewood.
Mr. Gibbons was a Sales Agent for Realty One Bay Village office from 1984 until retiring in 2003.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Pt. Clinton, He was a past President of North Olmsted Chamber of Commerce 1984-85, and was the member of the Year in 1982, Past President of Harbor Estate Lot Owners Assoc. in Catawba Island, Member of the Board of Governors, Cleveland Lumber Club, Past member of the the Building Industry Assoc, Past President of the Blue Gavel Yachting Organization in Rocky River 1981, Past Commodore of the Westlake Yachting Club 1972, where he served as a trustee from 1969-1972 and 1975-1976, and was the Westlake Man of the Year, 1974. He was also a member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1610, Pt. Clinton and served on the zoning board for Catawba Island for the past 5 years.
He enjoyed power boating.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Gibbons (nee Deeks) ; sons, Sean Gibbons of Bay Village, Kevin Gibbons of Catawba Island; Daughter, Colleen Milner of North Ridgeville; four grandchildren; sister, Mary Pat Connolly of Oak Harbor; 2 Brothers, Brian Gibbons of Scottsdale, AZ, Denny Gibbons of Avon Lake.
He was preceded in death by Parents, Robert and Helen Gibbons.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-9, Wednesday, at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road,North Ridgeville where prayer services will be held on Thursday at 9:30AM. A 10:00AM funeral mass will follow at St. Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Reverend Stephen Kaminski, Pastor, will be the celebrant.
Interment will follow in the St. Peter's Cemetery, North Ridgeville, Ohio.
