Robert H. Elliott's Obituary
Robert H. “Bob” Elliott, age 99, of North Ridgeville passed away Thursday July 6, 2023 at Ames Family Hospice, Westlake.
Born in Lakewood, he had resided in North Ridgeville for the past 77 years after moving from North Olmsted.
He served in the US Army Air Corp during WW II where he earned his wings, after WW II, he continued to serve his country as a pilot in the US Air Force Reserves.
Bob was a long-time member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, North Ridgeville. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, carpentry and traveling, especially to Hawaii and Switzerland.
Bob was partner in the family business, Beebe and Elliott American Motors Dealership in North Olmsted from the 1940’s through the 1970’s. He also operated Elliott’s Antiques with his wife for many years.
He was the last surviving founding member of the North Ridgeville Lions Club, he helped start in 1961, where he remained active and would very rarely miss a meeting or event until recently when his health and the Pandemic prevented him from attending.
Survivors include his longtime companion Cay Dyer, his daughters, Babette (Frank) Glauner of Pinehurst, NC, Connie (Bill) Weld of Tucson, Arizona, son David (Cindy) Elliott of Mason, Ohio, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Wanita in 1998, parents, Reuben and Helen Elliott, brother Will Elliott and sisters, Dorothy Stroud, Marian Crider and Ellen Hessert.
The family will receive friends Wednesday July 12 from 4-5:30 PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
