Robert Boswell's Obituary
Robert Boswell, age 76, of Avon Lake, passed away Tuesday November 4, 2014.
He was born in Cleveland, OH, and grew up in Northfield. Robert lived in Cleveland before moving to Sheffield Lake and then to Avon Lake in 1994. Most recently he resided at Center Ridge Health Campus, where he made many new friends and was lovingly called “The Major”.
In 1995 he retired after many years from Ohio Operating Engineers, where he worked on many of Cleveland’s highway projects.
Bob served in the U.S. Army, where he received the Good Conduct medal and was an M14 Sharpshooter, from 1961 - 1963.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sheffield Lake and also attended Avon Lake Baptist Church. Bob enjoyed being around people and was very active in all his church activities.
Although he did not have any children of his own, Bob was blessed to have help raise four; Melanie Miller of Land of Lakes, FL, Jeffrey Miller of Masontown, PA, his adopted son, Edward Boswell of Ashland, OH and Charla Rafn of Avon Lake, OH.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife G. Marie Boswell; parents Harold and Eleanor Boswell.
Friends may call Friday November 7, 2014 from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM in Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville.
Pastor Kiel Nunn will officiate.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
A luncheon will be provided immediately following at First Baptist Church in Sheffield Lake, 633 Harris Rd, Sheffield Lake, OH 44054.
