Robert "Bob" C. Sheets' Obituary
Robert “Bob” Charles Sheets, age 84, of Elyria, passed away from complications of his COPD on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at his home.
He was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania and moved to Elyria as a young boy, graduating from Elyria High School, Class of 1956.
Robert worked on the line, and then as an inspector for Ford Motor Company for 30 years, retiring in 1990.
He went faithfully to Elyria High School sporting events with his buddies. He was also an Elyria Little League West coach (12-14 yr olds) with some of those same buddies.
Bob enjoyed each season of Cleveland sports, and his tradition for years of going to Hazel’s Restaurant every day.
Survivors include his children, Charis (Tom) Eschweiler of Elyria, Stacy (John) Stanford of Elyria, Jordan (Beth) Sheets of Kingwood, Texas. Grandchildren, Zachary (Briana), Nicolaus, Olivia, RJ, Raquel, Ashley (David), Morgan and Caeleb, sister, Carol Hickingbotham of California, niece and nephew, Darayn and J. Ex-wife and friend, Carmen Sheets.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edgar and Verona Mae (nee Cook) Sheets.
A memorial service will take place in March and will be announced in the paper at that time.
Every Sunday before the football game, Bob would faithfully watch Jimmy Swaggert Sunday service. He came to love the beautiful traditional hymns they would sing and his favorite was "The Old Rugged Cross".
