Robert Adams' Obituary
Robert F. Adams, age 87 of North Ridgeville, died Sunday, September 18, 2005 at his home following a short illness.
He was born November 10, 1917 in Chicago. He had resided in North Ridgeville the past 41 years having moved from Elyria.
Mr. Adams served as a Sergeant in the US Army 95th Bomb Group during WW II. He had received the European Asiatic Theater Ribbon with 2 bronze stars, Purple Heart, Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters and a Distinguished Unit Citation.
Mr. Adams worked 22 years as a supervisor for General Motors, Cadillac Tank Plant, Cleveland retiring in 1972. He then continued to work as a machinist for 20 years at several local companies.
He was a member of North Ridgeville VFW Post 9871 and the Masonic Lodge.
He enjoyed bowling and was a avid baseball and football fan.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Adams, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by Parents' George and Viola Adams son James; and Daughter, Juanita Drnek.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will be held 1 PM Wednesday in the funeral home. Reverend Paul Jaster, Pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Elyria will officiate.
Interment will follow in Fields Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
