I had a fondness for Mr. Abbey as he was kind, funny and fair. He never jumped to conclusions regarding your situation but listened intently and offered advice. He did get me into trouble once with student council. He told me he admired my acting ability and asked me to pull a ruse on them in order for them to democratically make a decision as to the punishment I was to receive for an infraction. It was pretty intense..my crying, pleading and a lot was learned regarding their ability to make fair decisions. Unfortunately they took it out on me...Just Sayin'...Wish I had known he was still around when Ken and I moved back from the Baltimore/washington area we would have looked him up. God's Blessings to his family.

i was a student of bob`s in the mid 60s at brunswick high school. we had reconnected when he moved to medina and became a neighbor. i really dont remember when that was but i believe it would have been early to mid 70s. i remember his very droll wit. we will all miss him.

I remember Mr. Abbey use to use the word "basically" quite a bit in his conversations. Well, it must of stuck with me because I noticed a very long time ago I do the same thing. From time to time when I caught myself using the word; I would stop, and think of Mr. Abbey. He was always kind to me. I am sorry for your loss.
