Rita M McCormick's Obituary
Rita Maureen McCormick of Elyria, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at age 89. Born on November 14, 1936 in Needham Market, England, she spent her childhood in Ipswich, England.
Rita met her husband, Richard, when he was stationed at Bentwaters Air Force Base near Ipswich. They married in 1953 and welcomed a son, Robert. The family moved to Ohio after Richard was discharged in 1955 and welcomed daughter Maureen a few months later.
Her home was filled with love, laughter, and plenty of pies, cookies, and cakes. She enjoyed baking, knitting, dancing, and crafting. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
She is survived by daughter Maureen, daughter-in-law Jeanette, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard, son Robert, parents Oliver Gordon and Olive Rose Pratt, brother Anthony and sister-in-law Jeanette, and brother Philip.

Friends may call at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville, on Saturday, June 13, from 2-3 PM. A memorial service will be held in Rita's honor at 3 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be welcome at the Friendship Animal Protective League (8303 Murray Ridge Rd., Elyria, OH 44035, https://friendshipapl.org), Reserve Care Hospice (https://reservecare.org/give), or any charity of your choice.
