Rita Mason's Obituary
Rita L. Mason (nee Clement), age 50, of Grafton passed away peacefully at her home Sunday March 22, 2009 following a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Elyria where she resided until moving to Grafton nine years ago.
Mrs. Mason earned her Bachelors degree in Adult Education from David Myers University and her Masters from Cleveland State University.
Mrs. Mason was the Assistant Director for David Myers University for the past several years. She previously worked at NASA Lewis Research Center where she coordinated the summer internship program.
Rita was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
She volunteered with the Elyria Park and Rec Dept. with several events including the Easter Egg Hunts. She also tutored students at Midview Elementary Schools. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, baking and her pet dog Maxwell.
Surviving are her husband of 9 years, Garry L, Parents, John and Rita (nee Brown) Clement,
three brothers, John Michael (June) Clement of Mebane, NC, Robert Allen (Sharon) Clement of Elyria, Mark W. (Kim) Clement of Elyria, 3 nieces and 2 nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. Funeral Mass will be held 11 AM Thursday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church (Please meet at church) 25801 Royalton Road Columbia Station, Ohio 44028. Rev. Charles Ryba will be the celebrant. Private burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
