Rita L. Denomme's Obituary
Rita Denomme, age 96, of Elyria, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 in her home. She was born on October 19, 1929, in Providence, Rhode Island, and has been a resident of Elyria since 2019.
She spent her life as a devoted registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Rhode Island, retiring when she was 62 years old. Rita was a member of St. Peter Church and was involved in the Humane Society and RNC. In her spare time, Rita enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and growing in her devotion to Mary.
Rita is survived by sons Roland (Christine) Denomme, Michael (Jeanne) Denomme, Peter (Kimberly) Denomme, Paul (Emily Denomme), daughters Ann (Robin Robinson) Word, Arlene Denomme, Alice Gobeille, Annette McKay, twenty-one grandchildren, forty-eight great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Eugene Denomme, daughter Claire Denomme, and parents Wilfred and Lucie Plante.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 20 from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM closing prayer service in the Bogner Family Funeral Home at 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 Noon at St. Peter Church. Rev. Robert Franco, Pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will take later at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Greenwich, Rhode Island.
