Richard Frederick Schoerverth Sr.'s Obituary
Richard Frederick Schoerverth Sr., age 79, of Elyria, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 30, 2018 at University Hospital Elyria. He was born on October 7, 1938 in Cleveland and has been a resident of Elyria for the past 65 years. He worked at USG Interiors. He was a veteran of the US Army, and life member of Amvets. He was a charter member of Shepherd of the Ridge Church. Richard enjoyed doing yardwork, camping, golfing, horseshoes, played softball into his 60’s, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Linda; sons Richard Jr. (Wendy) Schoerverth of Florida, Robert Schoerverth of Elyria, Thomas (Matilda) Schoerverth of Elyria; daughters Bonnie (Mike) Cowling of Wellington, and Dawn (Jim) Ergh of Brunswick; 16 grandchildren; sister Gayle Schoerverth; many nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his wife Karen; parents Evelyn and Frederick Schoerverth; and brother Brian Schoerverth. Visitation will be Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville. Services will be on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 10:00 at the funeral home. Rev Paul Pater will officiate. Interment with Full Military Honors conducted by V.F.W. 9871, North Ridgeville, will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
